A note on safety and responsible practice

I care deeply about client safety - that’s why it safety is one of the first and most important topics in the courses I teach on Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy (PAT), in my role as Ethics Advisor to the Psychedelic Association of Canada, and in any discussions I have about PAT.

Psychedelic substances can be powerful and, for some people, destabilizing. The information on this website and in its blog posts is offered to help you learn. It is for educational and informational purposes only. It is not medical advice, psychological advice, or legal advice. It should not be taken as encouragement to use or obtain psychedelic substances outside of legally approved contexts.

In Canada, there are limited legal and regulated pathways for accessing Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy, which include clinical research studies and through Health Canada’s Special Access Program (SAP). Any references here to psychedelic medicines or therapies are to discuss emerging research, pathways for legal access, and preparation and integration practices. They are not an offer to promote, provide, or facilitate illegal services.

Reading this content does not create a client-therapist relationship. If you are seeking psychological support, please contact a qualified mental health professional. If you are in crisis, call your local emergency services (9-1-1 in British Columbia) or a crisis line right away.

Every effort is made to be accurate, but research and regulations in this field change quickly. Please verify information and consult appropriate professional guidance before making decisions about mental health treatment or psychedelic use.

Inner Space Wellness provides psychotherapy, integration support, and clinical supervision within legal and ethical frameworks recognized by the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). We do not provide or facilitate access to controlled substances.
